This learning guide provides everything you need to facilitate ten (1-hour/each) faculty meetings or professional development sessions on the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

The guide is broken into ten learning modules. Each learning module contains a firm goal, materials you’ll need (including slide decks, speaking notes, and resources!), methods you’ll use, and suggestions for how to give an assessment at the conclusion of the session.

The best way to begin implementing Universal Design for Learning is by understanding this is a collaborative process - which is why we created this guide to help to successfully bring UDL into your learning environment. 

This guide offers ten modules, each consisting of:

  • An outline inclusive of the firm goal, recommended materials for the lesson, and an assessment opportunity 
  • A slide deck featuring: 
    • An inclusive opening,
    • An engaging mini-lesson,
    • Self-differentiated learning resources,
    • Discussion opportunities (a great tool to assess what teachers have learned within the module)
    • An optimistic closing
